What to expect

We encourage everyone to bring their own yoga mat, although we do offer mats for rent. You may also want to bring some water and a towel. You will get sweaty in most of our classes (with the exception of stretch and restorative). At Yoga Vibe, we like to tune out the world, turn off our minds and get lost in the flow! Each class is different so try them all!

Yoga Vibe opened its doors in January 2012. Owners Larry and Amy Santiago set out to create a space with a great vibe... a neighborhood vibe, a community vibe... where yoga is fun, playful and full of energy. Beginners and seasoned yogis alike are welcome in a warm and friendly environment. We hope Yoga Vibe is a place you'll call home. Darby Orr RYT-200

Darby began his Yoga journey years ago as a way of creating balance in his life amid career stress, long hours sitting in front of a computer and relationship changes. Through Yoga he developed physical strength and flexibility, mental focus and, to his surprise, a renewed and joyous creative spirit. Inspired to share Yoga’s transformational gifts, he formally began his Yoga training with The White Lotus’ Ganga White.

Darby's classes emphasize the perfection of the present moment and the enjoyment of the journey. There’s laughter, sweat and an eclectic mix of music to lift the spirit and impart a sense of balance both physically and mentally. He is continually inspired by his students and feels truly blessed to be a guide, partner and witness to their yoga experience.

Elaine McCoy RYT-500

Elaine discovered yoga in 2001 while studying Thai Massage in Chiang Mai. By experiencing the benefits of hatha yoga, she left Thai Massage behind and began practicing yoga at an Iyengar based studio where she received her 200 and 300 certification. She has been teaching since 2011. She also has her certification in Yoga Tune Up® and Therapeutic Yoga.

Malona Alexander ERYT-500

Malona has been practicing yoga since 1969. She received her first yoga teacher certification in 1976 and was certified in the B.K.S. Iyengar system in 1981. Malona has been teaching over 35 years. She is also an AmSat certified Alexander Technique teacher since 1990. One of her greatest joys is in helping students find greater ease, confidence and creativity in their practice and life.

Alex Ellis ERYT-500

Led by her desire to help others take control of their health, Alex began teaching after completing a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Biology at UC Davis. With a strong background in anatomy and physiology, Alex strives to empower people to improve their health and well being through a personal movement practice and enhanced body awareness. She is an Integrated Yoga Tune Up® instructor and specializes in injury prevention and rehabilitation. A self-professed body nerd, Alex is an Integral Anatomy student of Gil Hedley’s. Alex’s classes combine her knowledge of the body in a fun and practical way to allow clients to develop a better sense of themselves. When not playing with her therapy puggle, Alex is constantly working on becoming a Supple Leopard.

Jessica McMillan

Jessica first began dabbling in yoga to compliment her running practice. However the extensive joy and benefits of yoga were not apparent at first. Years later, a teacher finally made it clear that yoga was so much more than a stretching practice, but a way to find balance and peace in our mind and body, on and off the mat. As a teacher now, Jessica strives to bring that same clarity and comfort into her classes, and show students a path to yoga that works for them.

Brandee Goatcher

After taking my first yoga class, I had a thirst for more. I wanted to conquer those balancing poses, but mostly, I craved that miraculous feeling of relaxation and energy combined. Anusara really clicked with its heart-felt themes, which connected my practice to the world around me. It made the practice bigger and more significant than I had realized. The connected nature of yoga gave me the confidence to explore my True Self, meaning, my own body, mind, and spirit. Everyone has a unique and beautiful individual practice. We can grow and become inspired by other yogis, but must honor ourselves, quirks and all. My classes are arranged in a way that allows me to share all of this mind-blowing truth with my students. Everything I learn as I try new styles of yoga, every piece of information I read or learn from another teacher, and every philosophical realization that clicks is my opportunity to offer my students something new, something bigger, something extraordinary. That's what yoga can be for you, and I only hope I can take you a step closer to that place. I studied 200 hours of Anusara in an Immersion with Maria Cristina Jimenez and Keric Morinaga and in a teacher training with Noah Maze and Tony Giuliano, completed an additional 100 hours of teacher training with Tony Giuliano. I have completed a Restorative Yoga Teacher Training with Jillian Pransky, studied Restorative under Maria Cristina and have taught the style for 2+ years.

Helen Allemano

Originally from London, Helen is a Los Angeles based Vinyasa Flow teacher. Yoga has been part of Helen's life in varying amounts from day one! Her grandmother was a practitioner of Kriya yoga and is responsible for getting Helen into her first headstand as a child! In 2011 Helen travelled to Goa, India and completed the Yoga Alliance Teacher Training course with Yogachara Lalit Kumar at the Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre. On returning to London Helen taught Ashtanga and Hatha yoga to a wide range of students. Helen made Los Angeles her home in September 2012 and currently teaches privately and in locations across Los Angeles, CA. As someone with scoliosis, Helen understands that yoga is completely unique for everyone so she offers modifications throughout the class encouraging students to discover their own practice.
